Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing where I use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a “universal energy” is transferred through my palms to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.
In a body where there has been a physical injury or even emotional pain, the energy tends to stagnate and these energy blocks can cause illness. I can help in improving the flow of energy around the body to enable relaxation, relieve pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness. The main benefit of Reiki (that leads to a lot of other benefits) is reducing stress. Our bodies cannot heal when they’re in a stressed state all the time.
Reiki balances your internal body levels to return to a near-natural state. This means that your breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, circulation, and other bodily systems will improve. This normal balance will allow your body to heal itself from within.
It can also:
Bring on a meditative state
Relieve pain and tension
Promote natural self-healing
Stimulate your body’s immune system
Foster tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery
Support the well-being of people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and kidney dialysis
Inducing a state of:
Remember that Reiki is a form of complementary therapy, which means it works alongside and not in place of other medical and therapeutic techniques. Reiki helps in balancing the overall system and can therefore benefit in any situation.
What to expect in your first Reiki Session?
Reiki sessions vary in length, but they often last between 60 and 90 minutes. You’ll spend the session lying fully clothed on a treatment table.
During the session, I will place my hands lightly on or near your body in a series of hand positions, including positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and the feet, as well as other positions based on your needs. Usually, there is very little talking.
Expect to feel deeply relaxed during the session. You are likely to daydream, and you may even fall into a light sleep. When this happens, I believe that people enter a deep meditative state that helps restore the nervous system.
